Audio interview with Jeff Dutton and Matt Kowalick of The Birthday Boys


Sketch comedy group The Birthday Boys is made up of Jefferson Dutton, Dave Ferguson, Michael Hanford, Tim Kalpakis, Matt Kowalick, Mike Mitchell and Chris VanArtsdalen. For their new show, “The Birthday Boys” on IFC, the guys are joined by Bob Odenkirk as executive producer and fellow performer. Odenkirk was a writer for “Saturday Night Live,” co-creator of “Mr. Show with Bob and David” and plays Saul Goodman on AMC’s “Breaking Bad.”

For the last four years The Birthday Boys performed a monthly live show with the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre  in Los Angeles, which evolved into their show for television.

The Birthday Boys will be touring as the opening act of Scott Aukerman’s “Comedy Bang! Bang! Live!” this fall. The show will be at the Aladdin Theater in Portland Oct. 1. Tickets are available at
